Over 60K Kentuckians Remain Without Power Following Tuesday Storms

Over 60-thousand Kentuckians remain without power this morning after severe storms swept across the state yesterday. Power-outage-dot-com shows northern and eastern Kentucky as some of the hardest-hit areas. Over 12-thousand customers are without service in Kenton County and neighboring Campbell County has around 10-thousand outages, as well. There are nearly 16-hundred properties without service in Robertson County this morning, representing about 97 percent of the tracked subscribers there.

Kentucky Sees Surge Of Independent Voter Registrations

Officials in Kentucky are seeing a surge in independent voter registrations. Last Friday, Secretary of State Michael Adams announced nearly five-thousand new voters registered in July. Of those, more than 25-hundred selected "other" as their party affiliation, more than Republicans and Democrats combined. People registered under "other" make up 11 percent of the Kentucky electorate.
