    Senator Rand Paul Visits Somerset
    Greg Moore

U.S. Senator Rand Paul visited Somerset yesterday for a special legislative update at the center for rural developement. He discussed issues impacting Kentucky, priorities in Washington, and shared his thoughts on matters affecting businesses, communities, and families across the Commonwealth. During an interview with Somerset 106, the Senator had this to say about rising prices: “Everybody’s talking about affordability, but another name for that is just inflation. Prices are going up. People are having a difficult time whether with the price of gas or groceries and we know what causes it. It’s not a mystery. Inflation is caused by running up a debt. The federal reserve buys that debt, and they do it with printed up money. If you print up new money and you pass it around, guess what, the existing money becomes worth less and less, so the last five years the paper currency has lost 25% of its value and that’s why things cost more.”
