South Kentucky RECC Announces Winners of 2024 Board of Directors Elections
South Kentucky RECC announced today the results of its 2024 Board of Directors elections. South Kentucky RECC is a democratically controlled, not-for profit electric cooperative governed by seven directors elected by and for its members.
This year, SKRECC members had the option to vote online beginning May 26 through June 9, or in person at the co-op’s three-day Annual Membership Days event held June 11-13 at the co-op’s five local offices.
Following a successful election process, new board member William Allen, Jr. and incumbent Brent Tackett have been certified by the SKRECC Credentials and Elections committee to serve four-year terms as board representatives for District 4 and District 7, respectively.
William Allen, Jr. was elected by the co-op’s membership to represent District 4 which covers northern Wayne County and a small portion of southern Pulaski County. Mr. Allen received 1,888 votes while opposing candidate Webb Upchurch received 1,535 votes.
Incumbent Brent Tackett was re-elected to represent District 7 which is comprised of parts of Pulaski, Lincoln and Casey Counties. Mr. Tackett received 1,639 votes while opposing candidate Lee Coffee received 1,345 votes.
SKRECC Board Chairperson Cathy Epperson remarked, “Thank you to all the director candidates for your interest in serving South Kentucky RECC by pursuing a seat on the board of directors. We congratulate William Allen, Jr. and Brent Tackett on their successful election. Their leadership will be instrumental in guiding South Kentucky as we continue to serve our members.”
South Kentucky RECC would like to extend its gratitude to all members who participated in the voting process and encourages continued involvement in cooperative activities.
The newly elected directors will officially begin their terms in July 2024.
