Somerset, KY– Somerset Community College (SCC) is inviting prospective and current students and community members to take the next step toward a rewarding career in healthcare during its “Press Play: Explore. Plan. Choose Your Healthcare Pathway” event, taking place June 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at SCC’s Somerset and Laurel campuses.
The event will be held simultaneously at the Harold Rogers Student Commons, Cafeteria in Somerset and in London at the Laurel Building #3, Rooms 203/204. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of health science programs while receiving personalized guidance from knowledgeable advisors and program professionals. “This is an excellent opportunity for anyone considering a career in healthcare to learn about their options and have a professional help guide them to the next step in accomplishing their dream of helping others,” said Dr. Corey Moore, SCC Dean of Health Sciences. “Whether someone is just starting out, changing careers, or continuing their education, SCC’s Health Sciences programs are designed to support student success.”
Attendees will be able to learn more about SCC’s highly regarded programs, including one of the top Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) programs in the nation, top-ranked nursing programs, and additional health science pathways known for their high job placement rates. SCC Health Sciences graduates are in demand across the region, reflecting the college’s strong emphasis on quality education, hands-on training, and workforce readiness.
Programs available at Somerset include: EMS‑Paramedic, Human and Social Services, Medical Laboratory Technician, Nursing (ADN and LPN), Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiography, and Surgical Technology.
In London, attendees can learn about our Medical Assisting, Nursing (ADN and LPN), Pharmacy Technician, Respiratory Therapist, and Diagnostic Medical Sonography programs.
Advisors will be on hand throughout the event to help prospective students explore different health fields, discuss program admission requirements, and map out personalized plans to reach long-term career goals in health care. Students will be able to complete their admissions process to the college, discuss financial aid options, and enroll in classes for our upcoming summer and fall semesters.
