Weekend Wrap-Up: Monday, December 11th

In the weekend’s high school basketball action, Rockcastle Co. secured a dominant victory against the Somerset Lady Briar Jumpers with a score of 66-27, while the Somerset boys managed a close win of 57-55 against Rockcastle Co. Other notable scores include Somerset defeating Danville 63-46, Somerset Christian School triumphing over Williamsburg 69-63, and Wayne Co. dominating Southwestern 79-43. In the girls’ division, Pulaski County Lady Maroons showcased a strong performance, defeating Casey Co. with a score of 81-26. However, Southwestern Lady Warriors faced tough competition, losing to South Laurel 75-72 and Notre Dame 49-26. Ryle also secured a victory against Pulaski County Lady Maroons with a score of 55-47.

Moving to college basketball, the No. 16 Kentucky Wildcats had a successful outing against Penn Quakers, winning 81-66 in Philadelphia. Aaron Bradshaw had a notable double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Rob Dillingham and Antonio Reeves contributed with 17 and 16 points, respectively. With this win, Kentucky improved to 7-2 and is set to face No. 9 North Carolina Tar Heels in the CBS Sports Classic in Atlanta this Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

In another college basketball matchup, the WKU Hilltoppers secured a road win by defeating University of Buffalo Bulls with a score of 82-65. Don McHenry led the Toppers with 16 points.
