The Florida Panthers sent a loud message in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final: this series now runs through them. With a dominant 6-1 thrashing of the Edmonton Oilers, Florida took a 2-1 lead and exposed Edmonton’s lack of composure, depth, and discipline.
It took just 56 seconds for the Panthers to get on the board, with Brad Marchand continuing his hot streak. From that moment, Florida dictated every aspect of the game — physically, mentally, and strategically. Sam Bennett’s punishing hit and slick goal epitomized the team’s swagger and confidence.
The Oilers, meanwhile, unraveled. Edmonton racked up 85 penalty minutes — including a game misconduct to Evander Kane and an unforced delay of game by goalie Stuart Skinner. With stars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl combining for just two shots, the team’s offensive engine sputtered completely.
Twelve Panthers recorded points, showcasing the club’s unmatched depth. The Oilers couldn’t match Florida’s energy or execution, particularly in the bottom-six, where they were thoroughly outplayed.
If the Oilers can’t find discipline and poise in Game 4, the Stanley Cup may soon be heading to Sunrise. Game 3 wasn’t just a loss — it was a warning.
