The popular animal show “Extraordinary World with Jeff Corwin” has been helping dogs get adopted by highlighting their stories and connecting them with potential adopters.
As CBS News reports, since the devastating LA wildfires in January that displaced hundreds of animals in both the Alta Dena and Pacific Palisades areas, the show has helped dozens of rescued dogs get adopted. Along with its host Jeff Corwin, the show also features stories of hard-to-adopt pets at shelters and connects them with fostering and adoption opportunities.
Raising Awareness
“Extraordinary World” has been bringing desperately needed attention to animals in need, particularly those who may be overlooked due to age, health, or behavior, according to the Brady Hunter Foundation.
Connecting with Adopters
By showcasing the stories of these animals, the show helps potential adopters connect with the dogs they might be interested in, says CBS News.
Highlighting Fostering
The show also features stories of people fostering animals, which helps promote the idea of fostering as a way to give animals a second chance before they find their forever homes, notes an Instagram post.
Positive Impact of Adoption
Corwin emphasizes the positive impact of adoption on both animals and their adopters, stressing the importance of providing a loving home for rescued dogs.
In the case of the LA wildfire rescues, a recent episode of Extraordinary World highlighted dogs rescued from the fires, and now all of the animals featured in that episode have been adopted! Now that every one of those dogs has been adopted, Corwin and Josh Fox, founder of the Brady Hunter Foundation, are continuing to share the importance of pet adoption.
