Aziz Ansari is stepping behind the camera — and back onto screens — with his long-delayed directorial debut Good Fortune, finally set to hit theaters after weathering strike delays and production halts. The comedy stars none other than Keanu Reeves as a clueless but well-intentioned guardian angel sent to meddle in the lives of a struggling gig worker (played by Ansari) and a high-powered venture capitalist (Seth Rogen).

Originally announced in 2023, Good Fortune marks a fresh start for Ansari after his halted Being Mortal project was shelved due to allegations involving actor Bill Murray. This time, he’s got an all-star cast and a surreal, feel-good premise ready to deliver laughs and unexpected heart.

Reeves’ angelic turn is already generating buzz, paired with Rogen’s signature charm and Ansari’s offbeat comedic voice. The film is produced by Lionsgate alongside Media Capital Technologies, with longtime Ansari collaborator Alan Yang also on board.

As Hollywood dives back into full swing, Good Fortune looks poised to be a standout. Between this and upcoming projects like Reeves’ John Wick 5 and Rogen’s wild comedy slate, it’s clear that good fortune is indeed shining on all involved.
