Kim Kardashian Set to Testify as Long-Awaited Paris Robbery Trial Begins Kim Kardashian Set to Testify as Long-Awaited Paris Robbery Trial Begins

Nearly nine years after Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint in a Paris hotel, the high-profile trial of ten alleged conspirators behind the $9 million jewelry heist is finally set to begin. Dubbed the “grandpa robbers” by French media due to their advanced ages, the group is accused of orchestrating the brazen 2016 crime that shocked the world.

The robbery occurred at the discreet Hôtel de Pourtalès, where masked men in faux police uniforms restrained the concierge and tied Kardashian up before fleeing with her valuables. Kardashian, 35 at the time, described the ordeal as the most terrifying moment of her life—believing she might be raped or killed.

Now 43, Kardashian is expected to testify on May 13. Her lawyer said she’s grateful for how respectfully French authorities have handled the case and is reserving further comment until her court appearance.

Among the defendants is Aomar Ait Khedache, 69, the alleged ringleader, and a former chauffeur’s brother accused of tipping off the gang. One suspect, Yunice Abbas, has even penned a memoir about the crime.

Though time has passed, the impact of that night still lingers for Kardashian, who now travels with round-the-clock security. The trial, unfolding in Paris without cameras, could finally bring closure to one of celebrity culture’s most infamous crimes.
