Nutella has been the topping for pretty much everything your foodie heart desires for over six decades: toast, waffles, pancakes, and even straight-off-the-spoon moments. Our love for that chocolatey, hazelnutty spread runs so deep that the brand has finally decided to switch things up.
Now, as Delish reports, for the first time in its 61-year history, Nutella is introducing a brand-new flavor. Say hello to Nutella Peanut. Launching in spring 2026, the new flavor “combines the distinctive creaminess of Nutella cocoa hazelnut spread with the delicious taste of roasted peanuts,” according to Ferrero, Nutella’s parent company.
It’s the same smooth texture, just with a little extra nuttiness. And honestly, it makes total sense. Since America is pretty much a peanut butter-obsessed nation, clearly, Nutella got the message. This new spread has been five years in the making and will be produced in Illinois, right alongside Butterfinger and Baby Ruth, thanks to a $75 million factory expansion.
And Nutella Peanut is just the beginning. As part of their plan to “supercharge growth in North America with a focus on innovations powered by its world-renowned brands,” Ferrero has a whole lineup of new treats planned for the next year, including Marshmallow Butterfingers, Dr Pepper Tic Tacs, and a limited-edition white chocolate Crunch bar.
Whether Nutella Peanut becomes a permanent thing is still TBD. “It’s definitely something we’d like to have on the radar,” said Seth Gonzalez, Nutella’s senior director of marketing, according to the Chicago Tribune. “Of course, we need the success of this product first to build a platform off of it.” But between the early buzz and our collective peanut obsession, we’re betting it sticks.
