This Friday: High School Football Playoffs – Third Round

  • Class 2A: Somerset Briar Jumpers (7-5) at Prestonsburg Black Cats (11-1). Kickoff 7:30 PM. Live coverage on Somerset 106.1 FM & Somerset106.com.
  • Class 5A: Pulaski Co. Maroons (8-4) at Highlands Bluebirds (10-2).
  • Class 5A: Southwestern Warriors (8-4) at Cooper Jaguars (12-2).

College Football Recap:

  • Backup QB Cutter Boley shined in the second half of the Kentucky Wildcats’ 48-6 win over Murray State. Boley went 10-14 for 130 yards and two touchdowns. Freshman Jamarion Wilcox added 123 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Wildcats snapped a four-game losing streak.
  • Up Next: Kentucky (4-6, 1-6 SEC) travels to face No. 3 Texas Longhorns (9-1, 5-1 SEC) in Austin. Kickoff is Saturday at 3:30 PM ET on ABC-TV.
  • The WKU Hilltoppers suffered a 12-7 upset against Louisiana Tech. QB Caden Veltkamp was 18-26 for 126 yards.

College Basketball Recap:

  • The No. 20 Kentucky Wildcats women’s team defeated No. 19 Louisville Cardinals 71-61 in OT. Georgia Amoore led UK with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Teonni Key added 17 points. The victory snapped Kentucky’s seven-game losing streak against Louisville.
  • Up Next: UK Women (4-0, 0-0 SEC) host Purdue Fort Wayne on Monday. Tipoff 6 PM ET on SEC Network Plus.
  • The WKU Hilltoppers edged out the Lipscomb Bisons 66-61. Don McHenry scored 21 points, with Babcar Faye adding 17 points and nine rebounds.

Sunday NFL Recap:
