Sports Update: Tuesday, October 10th

In high school soccer’s 12th Region Tournament at Wayne Co. High School, the Somerset Briar Jumpers secured a convincing 4-0 victory over East Jessamine, while Southwestern faced a challenging match against Boyle Co. and lost with a score of 5-0. In the girls’ tournament at West Jessamine High School, Boyle Co. dominated Pulaski County Lady Maroons with a resounding 10-0 win, and East Jessamine narrowly edged past Southwestern Lady Warriors with a 1-0 scoreline.

Turning to high school volleyball, the Somerset Christian School Lady Cougars clinched a 3-1 victory over the Southwestern Lady Warriors.

Looking ahead to Friday in high school football, the Danville Admirals (0-7) are set to take on the Somerset Briar Jumpers (5-2), with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Fans can catch the live coverage on Somerset 106.1 FM & Somerset106.com. Additionally, the Southwestern Warriors (4-3) are facing off against the South Laurel Cardinals (4-4), and the Pulaski Co. Maroons (2-6) are going head-to-head with the Harlan Co. Black Bears (1-6).

In college football action, this Saturday, the No. 25 Missouri Tigers (5-1/1-1 SEC) will face off against the No. 23 Kentucky Wildcats (5-1/2-1 SEC) in a highly anticipated matchup set for 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised on SEC Network. The WKU Hilltoppers, on the other hand, have a bye week.

As for the NFL, this Sunday will see the Cincinnati Bengals (2-3) hosting the Seattle Seahawks (3-1) at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati. Kickoff is at 1 p.m., and fans can tune in for live coverage on WTLO AM 1480/97.7 FM, with national broadcasting on CBS-TV.
