In recent high school basketball action, the boys’ game saw Mercer Co. narrowly defeat Somerset 62-60, while Southwestern secured a decisive 84-55 victory over Berea. On the girls’ side, Pulaski County Lady Maroons triumphed over Madison Central 71-63 in overtime, and Sacred Heart dominated with a 60-23 win against Southwestern Lady Warriors.

Moving to college football, Kentucky Wildcats’ RB Ray Davis has declared for the NFL Draft and will not participate in any postseason bowl game for UK. In his sole season at Kentucky, Davis made a significant impact, rushing for 1,066 yards and setting a school record with 20 touchdowns. Bowl game selections will be unveiled this Sunday after the completion of all conference championship games.

In Monday night NFL action, the Chicago Bears secured a tight 12-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

Turning to Tuesday in college basketball, No. 12 Kentucky (5-1) faced No. 8 Miami Hurricanes at Rupp Arena, marking part of the SEC/ACC Challenge. The Wildcats lead the series 3-1, with the Cats losing the last meeting 73-67 to then No. 21 Miami on December 6, 2008, at Rupp Arena. The game had a tipoff at 7:30 p.m. and was broadcasted on ESPN.

On Wednesday, the WKU Hilltoppers (4-3) hosted the Campbellsville University Tigers (8-2) at Diddle Arena in Bowling Green. WKU is 3-0 all-time against Campbellsville, winning the last meeting 109-66 in 2019. The game had live coverage at 7:30 p.m. ET, with tipoff at 8 p.m. on WTLO AM 1480/97.7 FM.

Looking ahead to Friday, the Kentucky State high school football championships at Kroger Field in Lexington featured matchups, including Class 1A between Raceland Rams (11-3) and Pikeville Panthers (11-2) at noon, Class 2A between Owensboro Catholic Aces (14-0) and Mayfield Cardinals (12-1) at 4 p.m., and Class 4A between Covington Catholic Colonels (14-0) and Boyle Co. Rebels (14-0) at 8 p.m.

On Saturday, the championships continued with Class 3A between Christian Academy-Louisville Centurions (13-1) and Bell Co. Bobcats (13-1) at noon, Class 6A between Trinity Shamrocks (11-3) and Bryan Station Defenders (11-3) at 4 p.m., and Class 5A between Cooper Jaguars (12-2) and Bowling Green Purples (11-3) at 8 p.m.

Monday night NFL featured the Cincinnati Bengals (5-6) against the Jacksonville Jaguars (8-3). Live coverage began at 7 p.m., followed by an 8:15 p.m. kickoff on WTLO AM 1480/97.7 FM and nationally on ABC/ESPN.
