Andrew Harrison hit a late three-pointer to lead La Familia (UK alumni) to a 70-61 victory over The Ville (UL alumni) in front of 13,000 fans at Freedom Hall in Louisville. Nate Sestina led La Familia with 22 points, including five threes. Willie Cauley-Stein went 8-9 from the field, contributing 20 points and nine rebounds. La Familia advances to the TBT Final Four in Philadelphia, where they will take on Carmen’s Crew (Ohio State alumni) on Friday.
Monday MLB:
Will Benson clubbed a two-run homer, TJ Friedl hit a three-run blast, and Jeimer Candelario added a solo shot to lead Cincinnati to a 7-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs at Great American Ball Park. Game two of the series at GABP is on Tuesday at 7:10 PM. Live coverage will be available on WTLO AM 1480/97.7 FM.
The Reds made two trades ahead of the July 30 MLB trade deadline. Cincinnati acquired 1B Ty France from Seattle and, in a separate move, traded RHP Frankie Montas to the Milwaukee Brewers.
College Football:
The University of Kentucky football Fan Day is this Saturday, August 3rd. Fans can attend an open practice from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM. UK merchandise and concessions will be available. Kentucky opens the regular season on Saturday, August 31st at home against Southern Miss at 7:45 PM.
