Cincinnati Reds rookie outfielder Rece Hinds was named the National League Player of the Week. In seven games last week, Hinds hit .423, amassing 11 hits, eight of which were for extra bases. He homered five times, doubled three times, and tripled once. Additionally, he was 2 for 2 in stolen bases.
In other news, Los Angeles Dodger Teoscar Hernandez won the MLB Home Run Derby in festivities in Arlington, Texas, the site of Tuesday’s All-Star Game.

The Major League All-Star Game will be held in Arlington, Texas. Pittsburgh Pirates rookie RHP Paul Skenes (6-0, 1.90 ERA) will start for the National League, while Baltimore Orioles RHP Corbin Burnes (9-4, 2.34 ERA) will start for the American League. Reds SS Elly De La Cruz and RHP Hunter Greene are reserves on the National League team. Cincinnati Reds manager David Bell will serve as a coach for the NL squad.
