High School Volleyball Honors

Congratulations to Southwestern Lady Warrior Halle Norvell, who has earned Second Team All-State honors from the Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association. In addition, Katherine Rush, the senior setter for Great Crossings, has been named Kentucky’s Miss Volleyball for 2024. These impressive awards reflect the dedication and talent of these players on the court this season.

Thursday Night Women’s College Basketball

The No. 22 Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball team (1-0, SEC) is set to face Northern Kentucky Norse (0-1, Horizon League) this Thursday at Historic Memorial Coliseum. With Kentucky leading the series 2-0, the Wildcats hope to continue their momentum after winning their season opener. Tipoff is at 6 PM, with live streaming on SEC Network Plus.

Thursday NFL Matchup: Bengals vs. Ravens

In NFL action, the Cincinnati Bengals (4-5) will travel to face their AFC North rivals, the Baltimore Ravens (6-3), on Thursday night. The Bengals are looking for redemption after a 41-38 overtime loss to the Ravens in October. The Ravens lead the all-time series 31-26, including a strong record in Baltimore, where they’ve won 19 out of 28 games. Coverage begins at 7 PM, and kickoff is at 8:15 PM on WTLO AM 1480/97.7 FM and Prime Video.

High School Football Playoffs Kick Off Friday

This Friday, local high school teams take the field in the opening round of the Kentucky High School Football Playoffs:

  • Class 2A: Owen Co. Rebels (6-4) at Somerset Briar Jumpers (6-4) – Kickoff at 7:30 PM, live on Somerset 106.1 FM and Somerset106.com.
  • Class 5A: West Jessamine Colts (3-7) at Pulaski Co. Maroons (6-4).
  • Class 5A: East Jessamine Jaguars (4-6) at Southwestern Warriors (3-7).

Saturday College Basketball Showdowns

Kentucky Wildcats Men’s Basketball (1-0, SEC) faces the Bucknell Bison (1-0, Patriot League) in their home opener this Saturday at Rupp Arena. This marks the first-ever meeting between the two teams, with tipoff at 4 PM on SEC Network Plus.

Meanwhile, WKU Hilltoppers (0-1, CUSA) are set to play the Grand Canyon University Lopes (1-0, WAC) in Phoenix, AZ, with an 8 PM ET tipoff.

Saturday College Football: WKU Hilltoppers Face New Mexico State

The WKU Hilltoppers (6-2, 4-0 CUSA) will go head-to-head with the New Mexico State Aggies (2-6, 1-4 CUSA) in Las Cruces, NM, this Saturday. WKU aims to keep their winning streak alive after defeating Kennesaw State last weekend, while NM State comes off a 34-13 loss to FIU. The Kentucky Wildcats (3-6, 1-6 SEC) have a bye this Saturday and will return to action on November 16th against the Murray State Racers (1-8, MVC).
