MLB: In the finale of their three-game series in Arizona, Santiago Espinal homered for the Cincinnati Reds, but the team fell short in a 2-1 loss to the Diamondbacks on Wednesday. College Baseball: The No. 2 University of Kentucky Wildcats (37-11, 20-7 SEC) will conclude their regular season by hosting the Vanderbilt Commodores (34-18, 12-15 SEC) in a three-game series at Kentucky Proud Park in Lexington. The games will take place on Thursday and Friday at 6:30 p.m. on SEC Network Plus, and Saturday at noon on SEC Network. The Wildcats have won 20 SEC games for only the second time in school history and lead the SEC by one game with three games remaining. Their magic number to clinch the SEC title is two.

College Softball: The Kentucky Wildcats (30-22) will face the Michigan Wolverines (41-16) in the NCAA Tournament opener in the Stillwater, Oklahoma regional on Friday. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

Horse Racing: The 149th Preakness Stakes, the second leg of racing’s Triple Crown, will be held at Pimlico Racecourse in Baltimore on Saturday. With the favorite, Muth, ruled out due to a fever, Kentucky Derby winner Mystik Dan is now the favorite at 5-2 odds. Post time is 6:40 p.m., with live coverage on NBC-TV.

NFL: The Cincinnati Bengals have released their 2024 schedule. The Bengals will open the preseason at home on August 10 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The regular season opener is set for September 8 at home against the New England Patriots. Other home games include matchups with the Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles, Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Cleveland Browns. Away games will be against the Kansas City Chiefs, Carolina Panthers, New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, and Tennessee Titans.
