Wednesday MLB:

The Cincinnati Reds secured a dramatic come-from-behind victory over the Colorado Rockies with a 12-7 win in Denver. Spencer Steer hit a two-run homer and Jonathan India launched a grand slam in the ninth inning to cap off the comeback. Jeimer Candelario and TJ Friedl also added home runs, marking the Reds’ first series sweep at Colorado since 2012.

Thursday MLB:

The Reds (29-33, 4th NL Central) will host the Chicago Cubs (30-31, 2nd NL Central) for a four-game series at Great American Ball Park. RHP Hunter Greene (3-2, 3.44 ERA) will start the opener at 7:10 p.m. Live coverage will be available on WTLO AM 1480/97.7 FM.

Thursday Kentucky High School Softball State Tournament:

The state tournament kicks off at John Cropp Field at UK in Lexington with the following matchups:

  • 10 a.m.: 12th Region champion Mercer County vs. Davies County
  • 1 p.m.: Assumption vs. Highlands
  • 5:30 p.m.: Mercy vs. Boyd County
  • 8:30 p.m.: Letcher County Central vs. North Laurel

Thursday Kentucky High School Baseball State Tournament:

The state tournament begins at Lexington Legends Field with the following games:

  • 10 a.m.: Russellville vs. Simon Kenton
  • 1:30 p.m.: Trinity vs. Pikeville
  • 5 p.m.: LaRue County vs. Pleasure Ridge Park
  • 8:30 p.m.: Mason County vs. Lexington Catholic

Women’s College Basketball:

The Kentucky Wildcats have announced the commitment of Oregon State transfer guard Dominika Paurova. Paurova, a native of the Czech Republic, averaged 5.5 points on 48% shooting from the field, 37% from three-point range, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 16.5 minutes per game at Oregon State.

Former Kentucky standout Rhyne Howard has been named to the 2024 USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team. Howard, a two-time WNBA All-Star and the unanimous 2022 WNBA Rookie of the Year, is currently averaging 16.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.6 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game for the Atlanta Dream. She will be the first Kentucky Wildcat women’s basketball player to represent Team USA at the Olympic Games, with 3×3 events starting July 30 in Paris, France.

Saturday College Baseball:

The NCAA Super Regional at Kentucky Proud Park in Lexington features the Kentucky Wildcats (43-14) against the Oregon State Beavers (45-14) in a best-of-three series. The winner will advance to the College Baseball World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
