In Wednesday’s boys’ high school basketball matchups, Rowan Co. secured a 68-54 victory over the Somerset Briar Jumpers, while Montgomery Co. edged past Pulaski Co. with a final score of 77-71.

Shifting gears to Kentucky Wildcats football, the team made significant moves during National Signing Day by signing 21 high school players for the 2024 season. Among them are notable names like Lexington Catholic QB Cutter Boley and the Smith twins, Jacob and Jered, from Corbin High School. The Wildcats concluded their 2023 season on December 29th in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl against the Clemson Tigers in Jacksonville, Fla., with kickoff scheduled for noon on ESPN.

Thursday’s college basketball action featured a highly anticipated matchup between the No. 9 Kentucky Wildcats (8-2) and the Louisville Cardinals (5-6) at the Yum! Center in Louisville.
