Friday High School Football Playoffs
- Class 2A: Somerset Briar Jumpers (7-5) at Prestonsburg Black Cats (11-1).
The Briar Jumpers hold a recent edge, winning the last two playoff meetings: a dominant 35-6 victory in 2016 and a narrow 28-21 win in 2013. Both teams share two common opponents this season. Prestonsburg defeated Leslie County 22-19 but lost to Breathitt County 35-6. Somerset beat both teams, routing Leslie County 53-13 and besting Breathitt County 42-21.

Friday College Basketball
No. 9 Kentucky Wildcats (4-0) vs. Jackson State Tigers (0-5).
The Wildcats are off to their best start since the 2016-2017 season, coming off a dominant 97-68 win over Lipscomb. Otega Oweh leads Kentucky, averaging 15.0 points per game. For the Tigers, Jamye Mitchell, Jr. leads with 13.8 points per game. Jackson State has struggled, with losses to WKU (79-62) and Vanderbilt (94-81) in recent games. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

Saturday College Football
- Kentucky Wildcats (4-6/1-6 SEC) at No. 3 Texas Longhorns (9-1/5-1 SEC)
The Wildcats face a formidable challenge in Austin. Texas won their only previous meeting, a 7-6 victory in 1951 during Bear Bryant’s tenure at Kentucky. Texas defeated Arkansas 20-10 last week, with their sole loss coming against Georgia (30-15). Kentucky is coming off a 48-6 win over Murray State.
Kickoff: 3:30 PM ET. Watch live on ABC-TV. - WKU Hilltoppers (7-3/5-1 CUSA) at Liberty Flames (7-2/4-2 CUSA)
WKU seeks their first-ever win against Liberty, who leads the all-time series 4-0. The Hilltoppers were upset by Louisiana Tech 12-7 last week, while Liberty edged UMass 35-34. This will be WKU’s first visit to Lynchburg since 1995.
