High School Baseball:
On Thursday, South Laurel dominated Southwestern with a 12-2 victory in five innings. Metcalfe County also had a commanding performance, shutting out Somerset Christian School 16-0 in four innings.
High School Softball:
Pulaski County Lady Maroons crushed Lincoln County 18-0 in five innings, while Somerset Christian School Lady Cougars defeated Metcalfe County 13-0 in five innings. However, Southwestern Lady Warriors faced a narrow defeat, losing 11-10 to Madison Southern.
MLB:
Elly De La Cruz had an outstanding performance with four hits and four stolen bases, and Will Benson hit a home run in the Cincinnati Reds’ 7-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the opener of their four-game series at Dodger Stadium. College Baseball:
The Kentucky Wildcats defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores 10-5 in Lexington on Thursday, securing a school-record 21 SEC victories. Game two of the series is Friday night at 6:30 p.m., and the series finale is Sunday at noon.
College Softball:
The Kentucky Wildcats (30-22) will face the Michigan Wolverines (41-16) in the NCAA Tournament opener in the Stillwater, Oklahoma regional on Friday at 3 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
Horse Racing:
The 149th Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Racecourse in Baltimore is scheduled for Saturday. Post time is 6:40 p.m., with live coverage on NBC-TV.

The 47th District high school baseball and softball tournaments will be held at Pulaski County High School starting Monday.
