College Football:

Former University of Kentucky Wildcat and Green Bay Packers star wide receiver Randall Cobb is joining the broadcast team at the SEC Network. Cobb recently retired from the NFL after a 13-season career, including 10 seasons with the Packers and his final season with the New York Jets. At UK, Cobb accumulated 2,974 yards and 35 touchdowns over three seasons in Lexington. He was a first-team All-American as an all-purpose player in his final season with the Wildcats and is a member of the UK Athletics Hall of Fame.

NFL Football:

The Cincinnati Bengals will enshrine Pro Bowl tackle Tim Krumrie and all-time leading rusher Corey Dillon into their Ring of Honor on September 23rd during their game against the Washington Commanders. Dillon’s No. 28 and Krumrie’s No. 69 will be installed in Paycor Stadium at halftime. Dillon rushed for 8,061 yards from 1997 to 2003, while Krumrie amassed 1,017 combined tackles during his career from 1983 to 1994, playing a franchise-best 188 games.

The Bengals open their 2024 preseason schedule with a home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday, August 10th at 7 PM. They will kick off the regular season at home on Sunday, September 8th against the New England Patriots at 1 PM. Live coverage of the Cincinnati Bengals can be heard on WTLO AM 1480/97.7 FM.

Friday MLB:

The Cincinnati Reds (47-50, 4th NL Central) will face the Washington Nationals (44-53, 4th NL East) in a three-game series at Nationals Park in Washington, DC. The games are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at 6:45 PM and Sunday at 1:35 PM. RHP Frankie Montas (4-7, 4.38 ERA) will start the Friday opener for the Reds. Cincinnati begins the second half of the season eight games out of first place and three games out of the last Wild Card playoff spot.

MLB Draft:

The Cincinnati Reds signed RHP Chase Burns to a $9.25 million signing bonus. Burns was the No. 2 overall selection in the MLB Draft out of Wake Forest. This past season, Burns struck out 191 hitters in 100 innings, walking just 30 with an ERA of 2.70.
