In Thursday’s high school basketball action, Somerset’s boys secured a decisive victory with a 63-36 win over Danville, while the Danville Lady Admirals emerged victorious against the Somerset Lady Briar Jumpers with a score of 63-51. The Class A 12th Region boys championship game is set for Friday, featuring Somerset (13-3) against Danville Christian Academy Warriors (11-4) with a tipoff at 7:30p.

Shifting to women’s college basketball on Thursday, Ajae Petty’s outstanding performance, marking her 10th double-double of the season with 23 points and 21 rebounds, couldn’t prevent the Kentucky Wildcats from a loss against the Vanderbilt Lady Commodores in Nashville.
