Somerset High School Soccer:
Congratulations to the Somerset All-State honorees! Lady Briar Jumper Tori Robertson has been named First-Team All-State, alongside Somerset Briar Jumpers Andrew Tomlinson and Tyson Absher. Landon Lonesky earned Second-Team honors.
College Basketball:
Kentucky Wildcats Men’s Basketball – The Wildcats soared in their season opener, defeating Wright State 103-63 in Coach Mark Pope’s debut. Highlights included Otega Oweh’s 26 points and Koby Brea’s 18. Kentucky is back in action this Saturday at Rupp Arena, facing the Bucknell Bison at 4 PM on SEC Network Plus.
Kentucky Wildcats Women’s Basketball – Coach Kenny Brooks celebrated his debut with a dominant 98-43 win over USC Upstate. Clara Strack led UK with 20 points and 6 rebounds. The team next plays on Thursday against Northern Kentucky at 6 PM on SEC Network Plus.
WKU Hilltoppers – WKU battled Wichita State in a close 91-84 loss. Babcar Faye had a standout performance with 28 points and 8 rebounds. WKU’s next matchup is against Grand Canyon in Phoenix on Saturday at 6 PM ET.
NFL:
Kansas City Chiefs edged past the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-24 on Monday night. Thursday Night Football features the Cincinnati Bengals (4-5) at Baltimore Ravens (6-3) with kickoff at 8:15 PM on WTLO AM 1480/97.7 FM and Prime Video.
High School Football Playoffs:
It’s playoff season! This Friday, Somerset, Pulaski County, and Southwestern teams begin their postseason runs:
- Class 2A: Owen Co. Rebels (6-4) at Somerset Briar Jumpers (6-4) – Live on Somerset 106.1 FM and Somerset106.com.
- Class 5A: West Jessamine Colts (3-7) at Pulaski Co. Maroons (6-4)
- Class 5A: East Jessamine Jaguars (4-6) at Southwestern Warriors (3-7)
College Football:
