Monday High School Soccer Action

In the Boys 12th Region Tournament at Boyle County High School, the Somerset Briar Jumpers dominated with a 6-2 victory over East Jessamine, while Wayne County edged out Lincoln County 2-1 to advance.

Meanwhile, in the Girls 12th Region Tournament held at Somerset High School, it was a tough night for the Pulaski County Lady Maroons, as they were shut out 8-0 by Boyle County, ending their season with a 9-8 record. On the other side, the Southwestern Lady Warriors secured a solid 4-2 win over East Jessamine, moving on in the tournament.


High School Volleyball

The Pulaski County Lady Maroons swept Lincoln County in three straight sets, continuing their impressive run in volleyball.


MLB Playoffs Update

In Game 2 of the National League Championship Series, the New York Mets bounced back with a 7-3 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, tying the series at 1-1. Over in the American League Championship Series, the New York Yankees took Game 1 with a 5-2 victory over the Cleveland Guardians, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.

The Buffalo Bills eked out a 23-20 win over the New York Jets in a tightly contested Monday Night Football showdown.


Kentucky Wildcats Basketball News

UK guard Jaxon Robinson has been named to the preseason Third Team All-Southeastern Conference. Robinson, a grad transfer from BYU, was the Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year last season, averaging 14.2 points per game while shooting 47.6% from the field and 35.5% from beyond the arc.

The annual Blue-White Scrimmage for Kentucky basketball is set for this Friday at 6 PM at the historic Memorial Coliseum.

Additionally, the preseason AP College Basketball Top 25 poll is out, and Kentucky is ranked No. 23. The Kansas Jayhawks claim the top spot at No. 1, with Alabama ranked No. 2. Other SEC teams in the top 25 include Auburn at No. 11, Tennessee at No. 12, Arkansas at No. 16, Texas at No. 19, and Ole Miss at No. 24.

College Football Saturday: Kentucky Wildcats vs. Florida Gators
