Lady Maroons dominated Somerset Lady Briar Jumpers with a score of 56-19, while the boys’ game saw Somerset narrowly defeating Pulaski County with a score of 49-47. Other notable results include the Southwestern Lady Warriors securing a close victory against Danville at 63-60 and the Southwestern boys’ team overcoming McCreary Central with a score of 55-54. Model also claimed a victory of 76-58 against Somerset Christian School, and Pulaski County Lady Maroons defeated Mercy with a score of 56-46.

Moving to college basketball, the No. 14 Kentucky Wildcats achieved a hard-fought victory against the No. 9 North Carolina Tar Heels with a final score of 87-83.
