In Tuesday’s high school basketball matchups, the Russell Co. girls defeated the Somerset Lady Briar Jumpers with a score of 64-35. In boys’ basketball, Somerset Christian School secured a victory over Lynn Camp with a score of 68-49, and Southwestern dominated Casey Co. with a score of 58-29.
Moving to college basketball action on Tuesday, No. 12 Kentucky had an impressive 95-73 victory over No. 8 Miami Hurricanes at Rupp Arena. Reed Shepard led Kentucky with 21 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one blocked shot. Antonio Reeves contributed 18 points, Rob Dillingham had 12 points and nine assists, and Jason Edwards scored 11 points. Looking ahead, Kentucky (6-1) is set to host UNC-Wilmington at Rupp Arena this Saturday, with the tipoff at 4 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the SEC Network.
On Wednesday, the WKU Hilltoppers (4-3) hosted the Campbellsville University Tigers (8-2) at Diddle Arena in Bowling Green. WKU had a historical advantage of 3-0 in all-time meetings against Campbellsville, having won the last encounter 109-66 in 2019.
