West Jessamine also had a close game, defeating Danville with a score of 1-0. The championship game will be held on Thursday at 6:30 p.m., featuring Somerset against West Jessamine.
The Girls 12th Region Soccer Tournament semifinals at West Jessamine High School included a match-up between Somerset Lady Briar Jumpers and West Jessamine at 8:30 p.m., as well as a game between East Jessamine and Boyle County at 6:30 p.m.
Shifting to college basketball, the Kentucky Wildcats have announced their annual Blue-White basketball scrimmage at Truist Arena at Northern Kentucky University, scheduled for October 21st with a 6:00 p.m. tipoff. The event can be watched on ESPN Plus.
In Wednesday’s MLB action, the Philadelphia Phillies secured a strong win over the Atlanta Braves with a score of 10-2, taking a 2-1 lead in the series. As for Friday’s high school football, the Danville Admirals (0-7) will face the Somerset Briar Jumpers (5-2). Somerset has won their last three games, including a 35-14 victory last season. In college football, the Missouri Tigers (5-1/1-1 SEC) will go up against the No. 24 Kentucky Wildcats (5-1/2-1 SEC) on Saturday. Kentucky will be looking to bounce back after a 51-13 loss to No. 1 Georgia, while Missouri is coming off a 49-39 loss to LSU. The Cats lead the overall series over Missouri 9-4 and have a 5-1 advantage in games played in Lexington. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network.
